All-round extrication glove for rescue teams with anatomic design for
perfect fit. The palm is made of Windbraker material. This makes the
glove waterproof and breathable. The lining is made of KEVLAR.
With introduction of
the EN 659:2003 + A1:2008 (latest
standard for fire-fighter gloves) the EN
659:2003-10 has been replaced.
The substantial modification differs in the standardized testing method
of the radiant heat.
Old: in this testing
method the material has to achieve a RHTI24 value of minimum 22s.
New:
The material has to achieve minimum 20s and no single-value of the
RHTI24 may be below 18s.
The non-German issues
of the EN 659:2003-10 had under this parameter always the 18s as minimum
value, on the other hand the German version always required 22s as
minimum value. That means regarding this paramtere one EN 659:2003-10
was not equal to the other EN 659:2003-10.
Who attaches great importance to a good thermal isolation, should pay
attention to where the gloves have been produced / certified.
If you have doubt please ask for the RHTI24 value. If these gloves are
certified according the new EN 659:2003 + A1:2008 it can happen, that
they are already equipped with a thinner isolation lining.
Important: Due to the reduction of the RHTI24 value from 22s to 18s,
there is no need for a re-examination or a new certificate.
